Philadelphia Union announced today that defender Ian Glavinovich sustained a torn meniscus in his right knee during the team’s match against Orlando City SC on Saturday, April 5th. Following the injury, Glavinovich underwent a successful surgical procedure on Tuesday, April 8th to repair the damage.
The young defender has already begun the recovery process and is focused on returning to full fitness. While the club has not provided an exact timeline for his return, meniscus injuries typically require several weeks to a few months of rehabilitation, depending on the severity and the individual’s recovery progress.
“We send our full support to Ian and wish him a speedy and successful recovery,” the club stated in an official release. “We look forward to seeing him back on the pitch with his teammates.”
Glavinovich has quickly become a promising figure within the Union’s defensive lineup, and his absence will be felt by both the coaching staff and fans. As he works his way back to the field, the club will continue to provide updates on his condition.
The entire Philadelphia Union community stands behind Ian and eagerly awaits his return to action.
