The BBC has confirmed that it postponed the airing of its documentary Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home on August 18, 2025, at the request of the Osbourne family. The film, originally scheduled for broadcast on BBC One, was pulled just hours before its premiere.
A BBC spokesperson stated,
“Our sympathies are with the Osbourne family at this difficult time. We are respecting the family’s wishes to wait a bit longer before airing this very special film. The new transmission date will be confirmed shortly.”
The documentary, initially conceived as a 10-part series titled Home to Roost, was re-edited into a one-hour special focusing on Ozzy Osbourne’s final years, including his return to the UK, health struggles, and his farewell concert in July 2025. It also features interviews with his wife Sharon and children Kelly and Jack.
The decision to delay the documentary comes less than a month after Ozzy Osbourne’s death on July 22, 2025, at age 76. The BBC has stated that a new air date for the documentary will be announced soon.
